GoNavy, our last call was last Friday...it sounded like it was depending on their test scores and duties. My husband was out on his rural country route when he received it and lost service after 9 1/2 minutes. She did call back and leave voicemail. Her last letter said next and last call is Nov. 19th see my previous post below. She said all flight arrangements for A school should be detailed by then...also thinks she will have numerous days of liberty due to the holiday. She did tell them that their division received an academic award, not sure which one. Hope this helps some, have you received any letters?
Has anyone with a SR in Ship 14 Div 013 received a call yet? Have not received a call since he let me know he made it there. Would love to hear his voice and know all is ok.
Happy Friday Everyone. I rec'd a very short n sweet letter from my SR. He seemed to be doing well and in good spirits. He was also able to write his grandma and sister. We're all very happy and looking forward to PIR in 26 days. Wishing letters and or phone calls to everyone!!
Ship 14 Div 013: some recent info that I received that moms in this division may be interested in!!
I received a lengthy letter from my daughter a few days ago. She is requesting some of the make-up items (getting pics soon) she initially sent home and other toiletries that they will not have time to purchase. She did say that they were testing on weapons this week and then fighting a fire next...can't wait for Battlestation 21. She sounds very excited and added some humor that I thought I would share with you all about the things she misses and took for granted: 1. Coffee, a good, strong, delicious cup! 2. Clorox disinfecting wipes, I will never take those for granted! 3.Toilet paper, when we have it its barely there and paper thin! 4.Gum! (make sure you have some handy @ graduation) 5. A towel that actually dries your body off after showering 6. My mattress, pillows, and COMFORTER we basically cover up with a burlap sack, rough & itchy 7. Cowboy boots, although ours aren't too bad, they are super heavy to I.T. in and a havoc to put on & lace up when you are about to pee your pants in the middle of the night. haha 8. I miss being able to pull my hair back into a pony tail 9. Ankle socks! Haha 10. Sleeping barefoot! I don't even know how they find out if we don't wear socks to bed, it's ridiculous. 11. Realtree energy drinks! Yum
She said it is hard to find time to write, they are only getting 4-5 hours of sleep from 2400-0400/0500 and sometimes have duty overnight...may be why some have not received letters. She did also say that their next and last call would be on November 19th!! Happy Friday everyone, Rochelle
Good morning everyone, So my Sailors ship came home yesterday YAY!!! I am of course in VA visiting her and so happy to see her but showered her with hugs instead of licks and tail wagging she received from her babies lol. This summer our Sailor came to FL to meet us for vacation and we were were all greeted with Tropical storm Debby. And now I am in VA to welcome my Sailor home and the weather channel is calling for what could be "The perfect storm." So depending on where this storm decides to go I may have to go home to NC a day early. I also have a daughter in college at UNC Wilmington so we have that concern as well. And what is waiting for me at home? The possibility of a snow storm :-0 Maybe I should change my name from Lala the Ribbon Queen to Lala the storm chaser lol.
I hope you all have a wonderful day and I hope you are not in the path of this "perfect storm"
I received my survey back from my SR today. I laughed so hard I cried. He is the weapons PO for his division and has made a couple of friends. He did say that the division was fighting. Hopefully that has stopped and they are starting to pull together.
Hoping for letters or phone call for all. Happy Friday!
Good Morning ladies.
I'm sorry Kellyd, my friend request thing wasn't showing up til this morning. I've accepted. :-) Thanks for your patience.
Good Morning!!! Thinking postive that I will have a letter today when I get home from work. Ship 13 Div. 011.
ATTENTION Ladies..........There is a girlfriend just lost transportation to PIR on 11/21 from Dallas Fort Worth Area...Is there anyone out there driving that she could try to ride with?????? She can't afford to fly!
