If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". Today is PIR for my SR and we can't be there. This is a lot harder than I thought it would be. My emotions are all over the place. With Thaksgiving and my SR's birthday as well I wish I could be there for him. This is going to be one long day at work today. I hope my SR gets to call home sometime today.

DRIVING TO PIR FROM NAVY LODGE (Online mappings are incorrect. i took a look in Aerial view and it doesn't match up properly.)

Make a Right onto Meridian.

Then a Right onto Cavin.

Left  onto Green Bay RD traveling North.

Turn Right onto Buckley RD (IL-137) traveling East.

You will see some housing on the right side as you travel...then a gate ( I believe that it is GATE 6 ) entrance to RTC. This is Illinois and will most likely be closed.

Keep going past that to Ohio (not to far away). If there is a line then you are in the right spot!

If you are one of the firstm(no line) just turn right onto Ohio. You will go up a hill and then GATE 8 will be on the right. If you were to keep traveling you will end up in the METRA Parking Lot.

There should be traffic cones in the street as they mark it off so that the far left lane is open for flow through traffic. There are two right lanes for a short while and then it narrows to one. So, don't travel in the far right one.

Here is a MAP. Just click to enlarge in another page.

See where it says Buckley Road and then you turn into RTC? This turn is OHIO. Then see Gate 8 with the red dot? This is the gate to enter for PIR. If you continue past Gate 8 on OHIO you will head straight into the Metra parking lot.

I am sorry I have not been on...just been crazy busy at home and had back to back PIR GROUPS starting...along with trying to keep a watch for all the changes and Holiday time PIR's.

I want to CONGRATULATE all of the new Sailors for this TG.

Also, keeping in my prayers those that have had to stay and complete their PFA's. Please keep us posted on here and ask anything. We will try to help as best we can. I know diannep has been helping all of you!

BIG BIG HUGS to all of you!

Sarge told us to go in gate 8. Get there early. The line will be a mile long. I don't remember the back roads he suggested. I am not driving so did not write that down. Sorry.
