WELCOME to PIR 11/21/2012!

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

PRAYING FOR BRETT!! please keep us posted, diannep!

Ladies, please pray for one of our sailors, Brett.  I have known him his whole life (he is 33) and his mom is my good friend.  He is based in Jacksonville FL...he was shot in the stomach today when intervening in an attempted mugging.  Is in surgery now...his mom/hubby on the 6 hr drive to get to him.  He has a 8 mo pregnant wife and a 1.5 yr old son.  Please pray that he will be ok!  He was very heroic in this situation...not surprising if you know Brett!  Thanks!

Mollybub: my son is ship03/div018 (brother division) and I still don't have a letter, but we've heard they were able to write on Sunday so we should hv something this week.

Get there early to get the best seats you can. Technically you could sit anywhere you want. But you want to sit in the section marked for your division in order to get the best chance of seeing your Sailor. The upper rows of the lower section fill up first. in my opinion the lower section has the best seats. Sit as high as you can in the lower section to have the best view and get the best pics. If you sit in the balcony you may need binoculars and will most likely have railing in all of your pictures. We left our hotel at 6:30 am and was parked, through the check in line and in the ceremony hall by 7:30 and were only about 5 or 6 rows from the top part of the lower section. We has 13 divisions.

Can you sit anywhere at the PIR graduation ceremony? Do you have to sit in a certain section? How early do you suggest getting to the graduation ? I understand there will be a large groups graduating on the 21st.
