N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Thanks for Info! Was able to get a special at Navy Lodge for $52 nightly. God is good and it's all working out.

I know the James A. Lovell health care center is right up the street from RTC so I hope that is where he will be receiving his care.

The Navy Lodge would be the closest as it is in the Forestall Housing area close to the health care center and RTC.

It runs around $68 dollars a night.

If she needs taxi service, Sarge (who does the Meet & Greet) would be your best bet to get quality service. You could contact him now to make arrangements.

Congratulations that your son will still be able to graduate on time and perform :-)

Praying for complete healing.

Need some help in finding the best accommodation and as inexpensive as possible for about a week after BOOTCAMP at or near GL. My son has a scheduled surgery for hernia on Nov 30. My wife will be staying for the operation, so that's about 5-6 extra days in a hotel. She won't have a vehicle, so needs to be close to the base. Good news on my son, he will still get to graduate and is still performing on the Rifle Drill Team this week. Praying for complete healing and we are thankful.

drill *hall* not all

Comment by FireTeamLeaderWife aka FTLW on November 15, 2015 at 8:19pm

NavyMom22 - It is about a hundred yard walk from shuttle drop off to the Visitors Center where you first enter for PIR. Then the walk through there, the mini museum likee area with naval history ( can't remember if it is only RTC or all naval)to the security checkpoint and then to the drill all.

Agree with diannep about the walking. If you park in the garage it can be about 100 yards as well from where you park until the actual drill hall.

If you decide to go across base to the NEX/Chapel area that's about a 1/4 mile.

VirgoMom:  Be sure to post your picture request in your discussion above.  It will be easier for someone in your division to take the picture for you since their sailors will be close by yours!

FaylinaMeir:  You are absolutely right....OPSEC should be minded always.  No posting of specific into (dates of Battlestations for a division, etc) on public sites....we used to be able to post the BattleStations dates for specific divisions on here but were asked to stop doing that a few years back.  Now, you can post that you have a date for Div ____ and let that person friend request/message you for it.  Private message is fine.
