N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

We are leaving Saturday evening. All the Sunday flights were already sold out

My son is flying out Friday to San Diego. I am flying out at 3pm to come back to Florida. That way I have time to be with him at the airport for a while and then get on my own flight.

So, just a question for those of you with loved ones who will be leaving GL to go to A school, when are you planning on flying back home? On Friday when most are flying or later? Just curious cause I am still trying to make plans. Thanks

Their letters are going to be your main source of communication very soon because this PIR group is about to go into their intense training phase and the phone calls will almost stop coming--still keep your phones handy in case of reward calls if a division is doing well!

Elizabeth,

I just sent a few sheets of blank copy paper and the long envelope folded into 3 (self-addressed).  I made sure to alternate which letters I would include them, so my envelope wouldn't weight more than an ounce (1 postage stamp).  We can write our SRs daily, but they can only mail us letters once a week on Mondays so we kept her supplied after she didn't want to use the very cool Navy stationery anymore~~

You can also send the lined notebook paper if your SR doesn't mind.  Ask your SR.

I also sent stamps if she asked for them. But didn't send too much because after Boot Camp is done, letter writing doesn't happen too much.....

I finally received a letter!!!! Praise God! Happy momma.

What type of paper and envelopes would be the most appropriate to send to SR's . I'm planning on sending some but i don't know if anything is not allowed

No letters and don't know if my son is the only one who doesn't write. However we have had a phone call every week for the last 3 weeks, so I guess he things that is good enough. DIV 903 is starting W4 training today. I took my son out to shoot my 9m before he left. I hope it pays off for him at the range this week. Also, I'm thankful to those on the rifle team with prior ROTC training that have helped my son, who had very little training before BOOTCAMP. Praying today for all SR, especially those who have battled physical or emotional issues at GL.
