Good Morning everyone! This is my second round of being a bootcamp mom.  My eldest son left for bootcamp on 10/1 and is in ship 13 div. 22 (he is nuke guy).  My middle son graduated from bootcamp on 5/2 and was also in ship 13 but div. 164,  Navy for moms was a lifesaver then as I know it will be again this time.  Even though I know what to expect this go around I still feel anxious. One thing is for sure they are all in good hands and the transformation by the end of bootcamp is amazing.  My son that graduated in May loves his job and the Navy.

Thank you for the heads up Catmom509. Where do we find that kind of information? I thought they couldn't call for about 3 weeks. This is very exciting news!

Hey everyone, I want to give you a "HEADS UP" to be prepared to receive calls from your SRs this weekend!  The call will show up as "847", "Pay Phone", or "Government" or anything else that may be unfamiliar.  If it is a sales call, just politely tell them "No, thank you."

During this time in Boot Camp, please keep your cell phones charged, ready, and with you all the time---upstairs, downstairs, out in the backyard, in the bathroom, out to get the mail, of course, out on errands.  If you are going to a loud restaurant or a movie theater, remember to put it on "vibrate" and put in your pocket or some place you can feel it.  They can call during the week or weekend, so just be prepared:  6:00 am - 6:00 pm (West Coast); 8:00 am - 8:00 pm (Great Lakes time); 9:00 am - 9:00 pm (East Coast).

@diannep my SR went in as striker. If I am saying that right. Thank you for helping find what school he will be going to.

ArizonaMom:  Check out Lovells at Lake Forest.  Just google it.  They have a very nice meal and normally your sailor eats for free.  We have had great reports from others who have gone there.  It is a bit pricey, but they said nice atmosphere and good food!  Owned by the former astronaut, Jim Lovell.
