@Kathy- he should already be proud of himself!!  that is amazing losing all that weight.

Just to confirm we cannot ask for additional tickets correct? even if there are sailors that are not using all four?

KathyS:  Wow, I agree with HoneyBee......what a great accomplishment for your son to have lost that weight!  And I agree with HoneyBee....the RDCs really do want them to succeed....so they work with the SRs.  If he doesn't pass it before his PIR date, which of course we hope he does!!!!!....he will stay in FIT and keep trying for a while .....so keep the faith!

On packing personal items....yes, you can bring those up for PIR weekend.  On Liberty, let him choose which ones he wants (bring extras)....and you can bring those select items to the airport.  Its best if they can fit in his carryon backpack since he will have that, a large seabag and garment bag (uniforms) to keep up with.  He can' t wear civilian clothing until he phases up anyway...takes a few weeks....so he won't need much.  And remember, he may be home for Christmas and can take more items back with him then.  The A Schools go on Stand Down and many are able to route a chit and get some Leave time to go home.

Happy Thursday everyone!  Feels good to be less that 2 weeks from seeing our SR's.

KathyS--The RDC's will do everything to get them to graduate on schedule. I will keep your son in my prayers.  What an awesome accomplishment on his part that alone he should be proud of himself that takes so much dedication and discipline.

I made all last minute travel arrangements last night I had been debating on drving vs train but with this weather we are taking the train all 6 of us...the drive is over 18 hours. I don't mind the driving actually enjoy cross county vacations.  I am excited to be going miss my boy as I know everyone is missing their SR's.

I've read references to packing items for A school (and if I keep reading back I'd probably be able to find the answer...sorry!) - but, my sailor will be flying out sometime that weekend I assume - so is it correct that I can bring whatever fits into a carry on for him? Will he have a Navy issued bag or just use his back pack?
I haven't heard anything from him for two weeks now so I'm starting to freak out a bit....okay, more than a bit! I'm very worried about his personal fitness assessments. He was nowhere near the requirements when he left. I don't want to sound like I lack confidence in him, but I'm just worried sick. He wants this so badly. He lost 120 pounds prepping for it but didn't do a lot to build strength and endurance, so I'm praying he's making it through.

Yep, apparently so, navymom.  Maybe in the Gurnee Mills Mall which is nearby!  You can google it!

Good Morning!

Diannep, yea that's where she wants me to go. So there is a VS near there? I was planning to go here and take with me.

CatMom509, thank you for the info. All she told me was bring her indies and bras lol but I will ask her again. That was my question too if they were able to have regular clothing as well besides under clothes. This is all new to us so we had no idea what was she able to have. Thank you again.
