For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Bookster: What job will your sailor be training for? I can find a link to that particular one with more specific info for you.

I agree, deirdre86: He has been moved from being in a division where he would have been among the first to become sailors to a division where he will be one of the last to become a sailor, probably for more training time, etc. Could have been disciplinary as well, but many times with discipline, they are removed from the PIR group and held back. But regardless, he is still in this PIR group with the same grad date---just a few days behind in training re: his first division....so all is good! Write some extra letters really encouraging him as I am sure it was not easy for him to move out of his division and to another. He is the "new guy" there....so prayers that he will adjust fine---I'm sure he will. My son was delayed a week when he was there...he said there were about 5 of them who were delayed, then put in this new PIR group/division. He said it took a while for the others to accept them since they weren't "original" with the group, but they were fine soon.

I got a letter!!! I am so excited! He sounds so much better and upbeat. Hope everybody gets a letter today! Sure makes it easier :)
