Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 021 & 022

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Does it have to be someone from the same division? or can they just be from the same ship? My husband is in div 022...I am thinking about going out there, but it is a 6 hour drive so I am not positive.

I called the Public Affairs Office and the guy eventually said same division after giving round-about answers. I was asking about a division on another ship though. So it may be okay, but probably not.

I'm kinda bummed to know i only spoke to my husband for 10 min. on Friday.  I wonder if he was on watch from Thursday to Friday, because he mentioned that he and another guy were on watch and they only had a few minutes to talk!  He finally recieved my mail with made the conversation a lot easier.  He sounds exhausted, sad, sick all into one! I'm hoping that it's just a matter of time before it becomes up beat again!!!  It's been 4 weeks since he left...so 5 more to go!!!  :-/  Can this time go faster please!

Dont worry, my fiance is sick too. I heard thats normal. I also heard once week four is over it gets so much easier for them. Hourly well see that in our letters these next few weeks. Are you div 021? Or 022?
Hopefully. Lol sorry on my phone

DIV022.  I hope it gets easier.  I'm sure he misses the kids...I know my son really misses him...he's asks for him everyday!  I'm a mess...lol

It might not get easier, we'll just be able to deal with it better. All my friends think I have done bipolar. Happy normal one day, crying and not coming out of my room the next. :) todays a good day but who knows about tomorrow. we just gotta try and stay strong. Remember that they will always come back to us, and that they are going through the same thing, if not worse.

my son is also in Div 022 and I miss him horribly. I do know also how hard it is to be away from your spouse. My husband went to the Police Academy (also 9 weeks ) right after we were married and I would lay awake at night crying my eyes out like a little baby..lol.. so just hang in there it will all be worth it in the end and the end is getting closer

It's no easy!  It's harder not hearing his voice every day.  I'm sure this is preparing me for the future...but some days are worst than others

I understand that completely. I felt the same way when my husband was gone. He is also my very best friend so it killed me when something would happen or a problem come up I did not have him to share it with. At that time I found wivesbehindthebadge which is a lot like this forum and it helped me greatly. Whenever I was having a really bad night I would get on there and chat with ladies going through the same as I was and it really helped. so stay on here and chat with others who understand. there is also a facebook page for our PIR group if you have not found it yet. my facebook is on there and you can message me anytime. i check it more often than I do this site.

It is def not easy having your spouse away...especially when you have children. My son misses daddy so much. He looks at me and says "daddy?" (in a questioning way) and I feel terrible. I tell him he is at school, but you have to wonder what the little ones are thinking when their daddy leaves (or mommy) for that amount of time with no communication. When my husband called on thursday, I let our son say hi and we told him all of our sons new words haha, But I could tell my husband was getting really upset listening to our son say new things bc he missed him learning them. But it is for the best for our future, and I know that, but my little one doesnt understand any of it besides daddys not here....My hubby was real emotional on the phone with me. I answered the call and actually thought something was wrong and he just said "im happy". I wanted to cry so badly, but I stayed strong for him, and we quickly got to talking about more happy things. He is allergic to nickel so they had to get him different dog tags bc his neck and chest broke out in painful itchy hives...he never knew he was allergic to nickel....i just keep telling myself "this too shall pass" and "5 more fridays" and "32 more days". its tough, but its the life we signed up for as well. :)

ps: is there a facebook page for div 022?

I still haven't received a call from my son. I've gotten 1 letter & so has my mom. I see where some of them have been getting their wisdom teeth taken out, maybe he was one of the not so lucky since he still had all 4.

I had a call come up this morning with 847 areacode. I was so excited, I answered the phone "Hello son." It wasn't my son. It was some guy who barely spoke english asking for someone named Kathy Schwartz. I told him I wasn't her & not to call again. He wanted to argue with me. So I again told him I was not her, that this was not her number, take it off their call list & don't call it again.

I just want to hear my sons voice. I miss him so much. I still haven't started sleaning his room, which is now going to be our middle boys room. Just keep looking in their seeing it just how he left it, a total mess. LOL Bet his area isn't a total mess now.
