I NEED HELP FROM VETERAN MOMS/WIVES!!! I just decided I want to go to Chicago for christmas and get my sailor. It's actually cheaper for me to make that trip than travel to my family's for christmas. I know there is a form I need to have and fill out and fax, etc. Do I have to wait until my recruit mail's it or can I get it somewhere else? Also, can I adopt another sailor there too, along with taking my Recruit out?!?! I need to find out this info asap, so please let me know!

Today is December 7th. It is the remembrance of Pearl Harbor Day, let's say a prayer for all the sailors lost that day and also for our SR's to stay strong. My father is a WWII Navy Vet and now his great-grandson is at GL. He is very proud of him.

Praying for you ALL to receive word from your SR! I know that until I got my 1st phone call I was a wreck; afterwards I was filled with peace to have finally heard his voice and to know he was doing fine. Do remember that no news is good news even though that's tough to except. {{Hugs to you ALL and our SR}}

Well its three weeks today and no phone call. Its just so discouraging. Im so ready to speak with my son.
Comment by Lynne on December 6, 2010 at 10:37pm
blessed....every RDC is different...some divisions get several short calls...some get just 3 calls, some get 2 very long calls...it just varies...there really is no set number of calls..and they can be very easily taken away...so just don't expect them...keep your phone glued to your side...take it with you to the bathroom, you'd be surpised how many people get the calls while taking care of business so to speak...lol!!
Comment by Lala Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons on December 6, 2010 at 8:57pm
sorry it took me so long to respond, I was working on ribbons for 12/22 PIR. The ribbons are for all family members and friends to wear to PIR and or the Meet and Greet. Some people even order them for family who can't go so that they have a keepsake. The ribbons have the name on one side, div on the other with stars and an anchor. They are all hand made by me for just the cost of materials and shipping. $5.00 each plus shipping ($5.00 to ship no matter how many ribbons you get) They are a great way to show your pride for your sailor, an awesome way to recognize other Navy for Mom members, suitable for men and women, and make a great keepsake for scrapbooks or shadow boxes. You can see the pics below and if you would more info or to place an order just send me a friend request and I will send you the info. Thanks!!! I will also say they look a million times better in person than they do in the pics. You can go to groups who have already had PIR and ask them how much they liked them. :-)
