Dianne, thanks. I have the phone directory for GL from an their official site but I have not found either of the numbers on the list, ugh. Oh well the message at church today was about depending on God...HE doesn't deliver us from our circumstances but delivers us through them! Guess I'm getting the test :)

Good Idea Jessica B. We are just thinking about unloading the home phone ( no one is ever home anyway, and it's just another expense we don't need!) but thought we would wait until child is out of bc.

navyfam: When I googled the number, I just checked the different sites that had it and it came up from the medical area. It was a year ago so I don't remember much more than that! Aging, you know????? :-)

What a wonderful story, DramaboysMom! I think my sailor son would love to meet his future wife that way! :-) Congrats on your 30 years of marriage!

it's Sunday evening and 30 years ago tomorrow I married my best friend. He was a sailor on the USS Forrestal which was in port in Valencia Spain in the Summer of 1978. ( ok I know some of you weren't even born yet) I was attending a summer abroad program and it was after a long day at school 4 friends and I were heading to Playa las Arenas and we were sitting on the park bench waiting for el autobus when these 5 American sailors walked by. Being the quiet , shy person I am ( if you know me that is sarcasim!) I asked them if they were American and viola! That is how I met my future hubby.! And tomorrow we will celebrate 30 years of wedded bliss, and hopefully get a letter from our SR.
My hope if he calls is that I will be able to be at home. I direct 2 Hand bell ringing groups, coach 7 teams in a program called Destination Imagination and I am "the Band Mom" plus I am the computer technician for our high school. So I am rarely at home after 6:30 AM or before 9:00 pm. And I know it will be my cell phone he calls. So I hope if it happens, it's late in the evening!

Thanks Dianne! How did you find out what part of the base it was on? I googled the #"s (called cell w/1 number, house w/a different number) and all that google says is Waskeugan, IL and a geographical point1

On the missed US Govt call....yep, like Jessica said, info needed. I freaked when I got out of my gym class when my son was in bc. I had a missed call even though my phone was right beside me! UGH! 847 area code. No message...that part made me scared. Why didn' he leave a message? I googled the number when I got home....it was from the Medical area of RTC. I didn't find out anything until he called like a week later...he said, "Oh, yeah, Mom. They needed some medical info on me, but we were able to solve it without reaching you." DANG! I was a nut case all week over that one.

And, Ash, being pregnant I'm sure is making it harder for you. Not only the hormonal thing, but the fact that he isn't there to share in watching your growing belly, etc.....It probably upsets him just as much....but keep your eye on the prize...because he is doing this, as you well know. for all of you....and this is the initial "sacrifice" time. Believe me...when you see him at PIR, all of these feelings....anger, sadness, etc....will be a thing of the past! And you will then be back in contact with him during A School and eventually living with him again....so....hang in there!

Bluewarriorlady-That onsie is very cute. I suggest when you get to a base look at the NEX. My sister-in-law and her husband, a Navy Chief, told me they nex has the cutest navy clothing for kids and adults, and at a cheaper price. They have replica navy unifoms for infansts, they are too cute. I think the NEX has a website too, so you can check, if not I will have my sister in law give me some info on it for you!
