Blessedsailorsmom - It will be okay. I really believe that. Better than okay! Our boys are safe and well cared for. For that I am so thankful! And - it may be a blessing in disguise that we don't hear from them for awhile. We might not like what we hear! How much better to hear their voice once they're starting to gain confidence. I'll pray for you!

Glad to see so many people on line for 1/14/11 PIR. I've always loved the countdown clock. Anyone have a son in Ship 7, Division 45?

My boyfriends mom received his box yesterday but did not get the official letter with his address at all yet. She has tried calling the recruiters office to ask about his address and tentative PIR date, but he has no picked up nor called back yet. Any suggestions as to why that may be?

Karla: There really is no guaranteed 3rd week calls...some call earlier, some later. But if he needs any more info for security reasons, he will call again (hopefully he can't get it all himself and then he can call....). So sorry you missed it but I think most of us have stories such as yours....it will make that next call that much more special! Hang in there...

50 days and counting ~ and let me tell you I am! I have lite my blue candle in the absence of my SR for this 1st holiday :( It will be hard but well worth it in the end. I am so anxious for a brief phone call from him just to hear his voice. I am with you Karla ~ my cell phone NEVER leaves my presence, ever!

Soooo - call forwarding to my cell was a great idea except that I plugged it in to charge in another room during the night. I always up pretty early but my boy called at 5:54am and I missed it because the home phone didn't ring! I was so sad! He sounded good, said he needed more information and was sorry he missed us. Said he could get the info so he wouldn't be able to call again but he'd write letters. Would this have been his 3-week call? I hope and pray it wasn't since no one else has received theirs yet, right?! So the moral of this story? SLEEP WITH YOUR CELL PHONE (definitely shouting here)!
