It is definitely not easy. If I hadn't seen him on Christmas Day, I would really be going crazy not getting a letter.  The last letters we received were from before we saw him that day.  Dying to know how they are doing through all the tests.  Was so hoping for a New Year's call but it didn't happen.  Now we found out his twin brother (in picture) can't attend PIR because of Corpsman Review Board that day.  Ugh.  He is going to be sooo disappointed.

What does it means to be a Blue Star Mom?  I've heard a couple different things.  I've heard: A.  You have a child deployed to a war zone and B.  You lost a child while in a war zone.

Oh trust me Ash...I am far from calm....I am with Lex...I hate not knowing...I need to know everything and this Navy business kills me...everything is done in their time...I am learning patience but it is not easy :)

I'm glad you ladies can stay calm about not recieving mail. I think I am the only one in my div. who has not recieved mail this week and I'm having an emotional break down! Thank freaking goodness there is only 9 days left or I might lose my mind!

I havent received a letter in 12 days....haven't heard anything from my son since Christmas Day :(   I know he is busy and no news is good news, just looking forward to the 14th!!
Comment by Tamme on January 4, 2011 at 4:15pm
I think the mail delay is due to the holiday mail.  They are able to mail more often now but that started right at the holidays.  This is also their extremely busy studying time as well for final tests.
Comment by Lex on January 4, 2011 at 4:00pm
does anyone know when we will stop receiving mail? Cuz I haven't received anything since I don't know when

9 more days ladies....whoohoo!!

I too have our blue star flag displayed and my candle shines brightly for them ALL :-)

I am getting extremely nervous for the "final" phone call and anxious at the same time for the arrival of PIR!!!

I already have the luggage down and ready to start pre-packing this weekend. I have my handy check list and last minute tips to go by; thanks to Jessica!

I received my ribbons yesterday, they are wonderful.  My blue star flag is proudly hung and my candle has been burning.  I can not believe that in 9 days and 21 hrs we will be seeing our "Sailors".....
