Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

We barely made it out as well.  It was such an exciting day though.  First White Christmas Chicago had in 13 years though!  Figures.

NS-E is NOT that smart. I am lucky he ordered pictures. I heard you can order them at  PIR, which is what I will probably do! Thanks for the input ladies!

Ash, you should be able to order them at the NEX right after PIR. Or maybe your recruit ordered them?  Some do.

division shirts: If I order them now, when can I expect to get them, because my shipping address is going to change a week after my SR graduates.

Battlestations for Div 39-40 (brother divisions) most likely will be Thurs, Jan 6th.  Thurs is usually the first day of BattleStations a week before PIR for the larger groups like yours.  I will start a BattleStations discussion above...please ask your recruits their date, post on here and in the discussion group, and maybe we can get a schedule up there.  They can have up to 4 divisions go at once....brother divisions go together.  Here are the brother divisions in your PIR group:

39+40, 41+42, 43+44, 45+46, 47+48---908 will most likely tag on to 2 brother divisions, or could go alone.

@Jessica - thanks for the last minute tips. I printed them out to have when packing. I already got the suit cases down and started putting items in there that I may need that i don't use everyday ie: binoculars, son's items (cell, laptop, Ipod etc...even his camera).
