Christmas--that magic blanket that wraps itself about us, that something so intangible that it is like a fragrance. It may weave a spell of nostalgia. Christmas may be a day of feasting, or of prayer, but always it will be a day of remembrance--a day in which we think of everything we have ever loved.

Hey everyone! Can anyone tell me where I can find information about education benefits for spouses (loan forgiveness, tuition reimbursement, etc.) as well as information about getting out of debt?

For those who have weekend visits wtih their new sailors...try to get there a little early because some have told me that then, you can see them march up in their division to the front gate!

The people tending the main gate will direct you in the right direction! I hope there's no dress code for picking up my recruit, I will be rolling out of bed, brushing my teeth and driving over (=

I got it ladies, haha. I wil be parking at the parking garage adjacent to the visitors center, where I am going to be picking up my recruit and NS's recruit (=

When I called to verify receipt of my Adopt-A-Sailor form, I asked if we were to pick up at the gate where PIR entry is and they said yes.  The Visitor Center is way over at the side of the main base.  I'll call them again and let you all know.

Ash- also check with past PIR groups that went for Thanksgiving! They will be able to tell you our side of the journey to pick them up!

good call RedsMom the FB answers the question, it says we pick up at the visitors center.  Someone asked about taxis being allowed in the gate.  The answer was no and they would have to walk to the visitors center two to three blocks where recruits will be picked up 12/15!

Ash ~ have you tried posting a comment on the US Navy Recruit Training FB page and see what they answer there?
They are usally very prompt about responding with detailed answers.
I understand about being prepared....it's a necessity for me too!
I wish you ALL safe travels to NAVSTA to visit your loved ones on Christmas Day.
