I got a letter yesterday :)
So exciting... He said the mail takes forever, his letter was dated the 12th and the last letter he got from me was from the 5th.
He also said they got a high & tight haircut and he said he looks ridiculous and told me "be prepared to see me on christmas... i look like a 'jarhead'!"
Also found out he will stay at GL for a 3 wk class before shipping to A school in California.
He requested my Christmas cookies because he said he has been on a "no dessert diet"... I think it might be by choice though.
They got their dog tags and he said they're noisy. And they put the wrong religion on his... hahahah.
He's performing at the Dec. 22 & Jan. 7 PIR along with his own and said at the Dec. 22 one the Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy will be there who is apparently the 4th in charge of the entire Navy. SO COOL.
NS... that's great to hear about his division! I can't wait to get the details of that kind of stuff from my hubby on Christmas... his letters are a lot of questions about stuff in our home life and just the dates on when their inspections and tests are. I wanna know about all that cool stuff!!
(8 days!)
Four weeks--How awesome is that??? Wow, what a ride!
Received another letter today!!! =] AND the bracelet I ordered (navy related) came today I LOVE IT! I'll be posting a picture of it on my page later tonight if anyone wants one let me know!
For those in Divisions 041 and Division 042:
In his letter he talked about doing the USS Marlinespike training session! He said they "kicked their brother divisions ass" (Div 042 & Div 041 are brother divisions according to his letter).
He said:
"The lesson was very chaotic and nobody really knew what they were doing but we somehow pulled together to bring a ship into port, make ready to leave port, and rescue a man overboard in less than 25 minutes with ZERO safety violations!!" Congrats to Division 042 on that!
He also told me how Division 041 did:
They went 10 minutes over the 25 minute time limit and had 33 safety violations! Don't worry though they will come together as a team soon enough!
Like Ash said!! ... 4 weeks from today this will all be over and they will be excited to begin the next step to their futures in the Navy! =]
I just wanted to say THANK YOU again to Lynn, Jessica and other veteran n4m ladies for suggesting the questionnaires. I dawned on me that my SR didn't always look back at my letters and answer questions I asked him. They have so much going on! So I keep an ongoing questionnaire open in Microsoft Word and add things I want to know as thoughts come to me. I add other fun questions from some of the questionnaires you've shared. Then, when I get a page full of questions, off it goes with a SASE in my next letter. I do about one a week. There is still that time delay of course, but it's amazing how much more information I get that way! And I think it's a lot easier for him, too! Awesome!
4 weeks from today our recruits will be GRADUATES of RTC! How exciting. Only a month left ladies, we are over halfway there (=
o ok my sr is in div 041. that would be crazy if we all flew out there together on the same flight too lol
mmaya ~ kjconner I beleive her son is in DIV 039.
redsmom- hey my fiance flew out of houston too who is the other mom who thinks their sr flew with yours??
JessicaB - I try that but it wasn't much help :( It gave more of an overall of what the restaurant was. Thank you for your suggestion though :)
