proudmom:  If you go on the calendar at the right of this page, go to January, and click on "13", a list of events will come up for that day. The MeetNGreet is on there for you to RSVP to.

I also got my Adopt-A-Sailor form and faxed it in right away! I'm calling Monday to confirm with Public Affairs. I'm soooo excited!!

Ash I bought Chicken Soup for the Military Wives Soul but I can't read it because I just cry, cry, cry!! Though I do love that prayer, it's beautiful.

My SR's last letter said he could only write on Sundays, I'm jealous that some of you are going to be getting more letters now!! Hopefully they can write more soon.

A Navy Wife's Prayer

sue ellen groseclose-combs-from Chicken Soup for the Military Wives Soul

How often we've stood on dark flig lines and piers

"I love you," "I'll miss you" whispered through tears

During long seperations, in peacetime, at war

my nights filled with dreams of this man I adore

With only my memories to hold clost at night...

I live for the day God returns my sunlight

Yes, life goes on when your loved one's at sea

but the ache never leaves, the fear stays with me.

Dear Lord, I need your guidance, your love

help me be brave, keep your watch from above

Hhold my dear one so safe in your heart and your hand

bring him home to his family....this hero...my man

Of us, Lord, I pray he'll be filled with such pride

of how we carried on without him by our side

Please, help time fly quickly and soon I will hold

the hand of the man whose eyes chase the cold.

Whose voice brings delight, whos touch eases pain.

How will I ever say "Farewell" again?

With your help, dear God, I'll try to stay strong

and pray this his time here wat home will be long.

Still, "I know that the Navy will need him," I sigh....

but we'll face it together, Dear Lord, you and I

Received 2 more letters...YAY! He still seems upbeat and said his DIV is slowly coming together.

I was a little sad that the blue form for the Adopt A Sailor Program wasn't in one of the letters. I am still holding out hope that it will arrive in time for me to fax it back on or around the 15th :-)

My boyfriend (Judie K's son) is going to SC for a school as a nuke.  He is leaving for SC on Saturday morning.  Your sailor should know by now if he is grad n go.  Other than that the liberty schedules are not finalized until the last week of boot camp or even the last day so it's common to not know everything until you're already there!  Hope this helps a little!

@Marsha try the Navy Lodge.  Its a mile from the RTC and very reasonable in price.

Does any one have a child that aftet PIR 1/14/10 is going to A School in SC as a NUK? I am wondering if any one has the liberty schedule for this group of sailors for the PIR weekend.  Also if you son is in Ship 12 Div 039 and his name is Patrick I am looking to meet his Mom.
