If you log onto Facebook - U.S.Navy Recruit Training Command - You will find information regarding our recruits and Thanksgiving.  We can visit that day , but if we can not, our recruits will be "adopted" for the day.  It is pretty awesome!  I encourage y'all to read it :)

That is so awesome.  It's nice to know that our kids will have the chance to be adopted for the day.  God bless those groups and people who do this.

I agree 100%

wow! that is awesome! ...Agreed ... God Bless the groups who do this for them :-)
We are going to visit our SR for Thanksgiving and have adopted his buddy. Ship 09 Div 013. Please post if you have a son in this Ship and Div. I know his name but don't want to post it on  here. I am also needing to know of some restaurants that will be serving the traditional Thanksgiving dinner. I can't find anything when I search that is appropriate. Thanks
Yes - this is awesome.  Makes me so happy to know my son will be adopted for Thanksgiving!!! He's in Ship 09 / Div 015.
My son is Ship 07 Div 009-----he's excited about getting to be with another family---wish I could go and get him out--$$$--PIR I am going to but, I can't Thanksgiving.

Where is this discussed, I dont see it.  Do you have a date and time so easier to find?

If you go to the RTC Facebook page and go to the Notes section you will see it . Also I have copied it directly to the PIR 12/02 comments page.

We will have our own son and an extra. Wish I could take more!  We are driving up there from 4 hours away!  CAN'T WAIT!!

Where are you going to stay?  We have to do the same thing and just dont know what to do.  Gurnee Mall is closed and have to find a restaurant open that day.

We are also driving from 4 hours away in Indiana to spend THanksgiving with our SR and one other. We found this nearby restaurant that is having a Thanksgiving buffet. It looks like an interesting place. Here is the link

http://www.csquire.com/.  We are now trying to find a place where he can watch football which is what he really, really wants to do.

We are staying at the Marriott and eating at Anastasia's. We are also adopting my son and a buddy!yb
