FIBroomie, I've seen a lot of pictures of Sailors at the Sears Tower in the glass box viewing area. My mom has gone a few times and said it is really cool. I'll ask her about chinese food and other spots and let you know if she has any suggestions!

CatMom and diannep...I have to say that FL and CA sound absolutely wonderful this time of year. I was born in North Dakota and raised in Minnesota. Back in the 90's I decided to move to FL so I went to Tampa in August...I have to say that I thought I was going to die! Now it does get hot and humid here in the summer, but I have never experienced anything like I did on that trip. By 10am we had to be inside and stayed in until evening, and even then when we opened the door to leave the heat literally sucked the air out of our lungs. Needless to say we did not move. This summer I had to spend some time in Las Vegas and AZ and it was hot! 114 degrees at the highest, and the wind felt like hot oven air. I will say that I think I prefer the desert weather. But with that said...EVERY winter I tell myself that I am going to move from this tundra. Maybe someday!

Yes, CatMom:  FL and CA have lots to offer with weather this time of year.  But you have a step up on us....in you have cooler nights, which is so nice.  We have humidity day and night....when we lose power anytime from May-Oct....yikes!  Hot and sticky at night too....I remember after Hurricane Andrew back in 92, when we had no power for 3 weeks, taking a COLD shower at night (felt good because we were so hot) and going to bed with wet hair because that was the only way to cool down and get to sleep before the "heat" set in.  I haven't been to CA in many years, but was there during the summer the last time and LOVED the night time temps!

CatMom509 her twin definitely feels that way. She is just not one to say it.  They have always been close but are extreme opposites in every way. Including appearance. She is blonde and blue eyed and he has dark brown hair and eyes.

You're funny, diannep!!

Don't forget California with our gorgeous sunsets!!  We have Hollywood, the entertainment capital of the world and Las Vegas is only 4-5 hour drive away~~  Hawaii is only a 5 hour flight away~~ No humidity during the winter either!!

Well, for those freezing, come on down!  Our state is a tourism state....so our snowbird season is very important to us.....we rely on visitors spending money here while enjoying the beautiful weather!  So....VISIT!  :-)
