Thank you diannep for the information.  So, another question.  If Battle Station has 150-300 per session, it would be 1-2 Brother Stations at a time, is that correct.  If my SR is in Division 29 looking at that being early on correct?

Comment by diannep on October 28, 2014 at 10:31pm

aossanna:  They start with about 88 SRs in a division.  Some are lost to discharge, some are setback for one reason or another, and then others who had been delayed in training from earlier PIR groups join the division --  now ready to resume training.  They normally graduate with less than 88.

As a first generation American, I am kinda new to all of this.  I have a question, how many SR's are in a Division?

Thank you! I think I read somewhere that you can bring their laptop and cell phone to them at the airport before they leave for A-school. Is that the case? He'll be going to Pensacola.

On the wrist watches....I believe they need to be silver or black, not gold.  Most seem to get a nice black watch.  Your SR may have more info on what is and is not allowed.  You may want to look online at some of the military watches offered to get some idea.

Easttexasnavymomma:  Here is the info on the purse:

Can women carry their civilian purses while in uniform?

The answer to this question is yes, provided the handbag is in compliance with Navy Uniform Regulations.

Chapter Three, Section 5, Article 3501.25:

“Women may wear civilian handbags while in uniform in the manner prescribed below.  The handbag must be of plain black, brown, white grain leather or synthetic leather, rectangular in shape and designed with a flap (magnetic or zipper).  The color of the handbag will match the color of the shoes worn.  Dimensions must be between 7 1/2 to 14 inches in width, 5 1/2 to 11 inches in height, and 2 to 4 inches deep.  Exotic materials such as eel, alligator, or ostrich skin are not authorized.  The handbag may not have any visible ornamentation, decorative stitching, embossed design, or manufacturer’s logo.  The closure hardware will be brass-plated, silver or gold-colored (no oversized buckles or string ties are allowed).  The strap (single or double) will be of the same material as the purse and may have a gold-colored or black-colored buckle.  Handbags may be procured from commercial sources, provided the above criteria is followed.  Carry over the left shoulder or forearm, placing the top of the handbag at waist level.”

Can anyone tell me if watches have to be a specific style or color as well as what style face would be best? I have read that a lot of parents take thier SR's to the mall and let them pick it out themselves. I would rather not risk spending all day in a single store after PIR as it sounds like that place will be busy busy.

I have read that the girls can carry a small leather purse with no decorations on it and it has to clasp or zip with a flap that folds over. The color they use has to match the shoes they are wearing, so my question there is what color are thier shoes? Will they only have black or will thier be other colors involved?

Thank you or the DoT update Kimberely68! (DoT=Day of Training)

A Division and it's Brother Division will be on the same DoT.

It is possible for another "pair" of Divisions to have the same DoT as that one...but usually no more than that.

Since there are about 60+ (really 70+ but I am not counting the ones in their last week of BC) Divisions in Actual Training at RTC at any given time you can see why it is like this. For use of Facilities and then BST-21 at the end of PIR. BST-21 can only accommodate up to 4 Divisions maximum at one time.
