Once they report to school they have to earn their liberty time. It takes a while before they are allowed to stay off base etc. He may have liberty during the day, but he won't know until he gets there.
The whole Navy closes for the Holidays. So no classes are going on, and the Sailors that are currently in the middle of their schooling have leave time. Most have to report back by Jan 2nd. So I'm guessing most of the new Sailors won't be starting school until after the Holiday leave is over. There will still be people at their schools and bases and they still have to report when they were told. They just may not start their schooling immediately. Which is typical for any time. Our friends in Pensicola didn't start school for a few weeks after they reported there. And he wasn't even allowed to move off base with his wife until this week, and had been there since September. So it takes quite a bit of time.
The only stinky part about possibly staying in the hotel while he's at school is we'd most likely be spending ALOT of alone time. They may only have liberty for a few hours here and there, and more on the weekends. But like I said, it depends how much liberty they are actually given. Everything is just touch and go at this point. So I'm going to wait to talk to S before I get my hopes up about visiting this soon. :/
Okay I texted you last night!! ahh, okay I'll message you my number.
Is S coming home for Christmas with you and his mom after graduation, or are you staying the weekend to spend time together?
9 more days!!! :)
I got a letter too....H*LL WEEK is Over...and they all survived letter was dated 12/1/10! They earned flag 3 for fitness...that means "they can now march on their own and Sing" is what my SR said!! Things are pulling together for the Division...Pictures were taken on the 1st! That's about it!
Letter came today...dated 12/3/10 they still have not done the gas chamber as the date of the letter, and he didn't know when they would. They started working on Show Marching and that was actually really fun. They are at the point in BC where they are on their own the RDC;s said they are basically just there to Mentor them and they can crack jokes with the RDC;s and not get in trouble for it.They have 2 more inspections, Test 3, Final PFA (Personal Fitness Assessment) and Battle Stations (no date) and Fire Fighting. He said this would probably be the last letter...but they will get another phone call probably the 'I'm a Sailor Call?" He said his last PFA weigh in he lost 10 pounds in fat and gained 11 pounds in muscle. He didn't have 10 pounds to lose ugghhh! Can't wait to see him!!! Also said he will probably volunteer to go to Iraq (AO's can volunteer...some get picked)...I am in tears, something I didn't want to hear!!!

((Hugs everyone)) 8 days left!

Cindy
My son said he's put on a lot of muscle and he now weighs around 20 pounds more than when he left... I can't wait to see him. His comment was that his six pack weighs more now... lol
