Oh, I DO understand that if they are 5 days in the hole during this holiday leave time, when they come home after A School, they can arrange to work with their recruiter and those days will not count as leave. You can verify that with your recruiter. Someone posted that on here. But the leave has to be done after A School, not before A School, from what I read.

LoLo: I'm passing your question off to Anti M because I'm not sure about the leave. My son came home between A School and his duty station (14 days). He will be home again at Christmas (7 mos since last leave) for 11 days.

Hopefullly Anti M can answer this your leave question below.

...and they get up very early during Hell Week! It is called that mainly because it is a very busy week for them....but they get through it!

Photos - I saw this post on the RTC Facebook page: For any questions regarding photo packages, you may call the photo lab directly during normal business hours at 847-578-6205.

By the way; I believe this week is what is called Hell Week. From what I've read, it is a week filled with extra inspections, academic testing, etc. Extra PT possibly.

Hoping Diane or Anti M will respond but this is my understanding from a previous post by Anti M (I think). If our soon to be Sailors take leave following PIR they will be 5 days in the hole. Once in A school they will accrue 2.5 days / month - after 2 months or 8 weeks they will be at 0 and then begin building leave days again. So yes, I believe you are correct if I read your post correctly.

Thank you Lori

I have a question about the leave time for the SR's and going into the hole 5 days if they take the full amount of time after PIR.

My son will be in school for probably a year or so, won't he be accruing more leave time while in school, meaning the first portion of accrued leave time (while in school) will pay back what he uses after PIR and then he may accrue additional leave time that could be used after he is done with school? Am I correct in my thinking or did I confuse the issue more?

For those of you that enjoy our Juke Box music, I added a couple of Navy Cadences to the mix. When you hear them, think of your SR marching the weeks away to PIR!
