Actually I have no middle name and gave my daughter her first name and the initial K as her middle name. Her initials are KK. That is so weird. Going hunting this weekend I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!! I can't wait to hear how the Thanksgiving dinners with the foster families go!!!

Uniforms are considered a very acceptable way to dress if the person is authorized to wear it. LOL, be sure they are 100% squared away and their shoes shined!

Yes, Betsy's suggestion to call PAO is a good one on the NJROTC uniforms. They usually welcome uniforms being worn at PIR!

I got my first letter today!! I'm so excited. She says she got busted for scratching in ranks and smiling too much.LOL She wrote on Veterans' Day so it took a whole week to get to Texas.

Hmmm, I would call Navy Public Affairs and ask them. The number is 847-688-2405

Personally, I would think it would be cool for them to wear their uniforms.

My son asked his sisters to wear their NJROTC uniforms to PIR is this ok??? I wasn't too sure if it would be exceptable at this occasion.

Awww, that's great about him being a lead performer. ((hugs)) on the letter. I would think that the longer they are away, the harder it is for them.

My son told me in his letter yesterday, that our letters to him, help make him forget that he is there.

Happy Thursday, ladies. I hope more letters will be arriving for you. It's almost Friday already. One more week almost down for our recruits!

There's a good chance that if he is not taking leave, they will have him out of Great Lakes very quickly. He will let you know when they let him know.

Illinibeam, how much time depends on whether they are grad and go or not. Do you know where his A school is located? I can guess sometimes by that.

Karen K (weird, I have an aunt by that name, Karen Kay), the gas chamber teaches them hos to use the gas masks/breathing device. You learn about it, learn how to put it on. Then you all put them on and go into the gas chamber. They set off the tear gas. yes, the real deal. Then you have to take off the mask, hold it in both hands, and they have you recite some of the general orders, or something else you'e memorized. Then you march out, holding the gas mask so you won't touch your face. Anyway, that's how we did it. Probably has changed and varies now, but I bet not much. It sucks. I survived.
