I changed my profile pic and wanted to let you all know so you would recognize me. Hard to miss with the new pic lol. I figured it was time to take down the pic with my sailor since she is almost finished with c-school. I hope everyone is having a good day. :-)

Ty'sMom, I would definetely check with your son before you do definite plans for him. He should call you to tell what he needs. My son has told me that he needs a copy of his itinerary for coming home from BC and a copy of the itinerary from home to A school. When he called me just now, he gave me an e-mail address where I'm supposed to send it.

I haven't TALKED with my son yet so it is really hard for me to know what he needs from me in terms of his leave after graduation. Can anyone tell me what it is that I am suppose to provide to enable he will be ready to travel back with us?

KarenK's mom, I'm not sure, but I would think they have to earn that though. So, it does sound like an award.

I just got a really quick call from my son. He said he has passed everything so far and has been getting all of my letters. He needs me to e-mail his itinerary to go home and then to A school to them. YAY! I'll take a 2 minute call.

Sharon, thanks for the info about ship 04, div. 020, My son is in there and since, I haven't spoken with him since last week, I was not aware of the flag and IT. YAY for the flag, but I'm sad about the IT.

Anti M,
I got a question, just got a letter from my daughter and she said she gets a collar device with an eagle and chevrons and its silver. She was named Weapons Petty Officer. What all does this mean? How can they go from a SR to a Petty Officer if they are still in BC?
Comment by Anti M on November 17, 2010 at 1:27pm
On a normal PIR weekend, some of the sailors would stay on RTC until Monday or later, when they would move onto their school. They get the weekend, with a curfew, to visit with their families. Grad and goes get on a plane, usually early Saturday, with little time to visit. Sailors with A school in Glakes as grad and goes, check into their school then pretty much have the weekend off.

None of that applies to the stand down sailors who are taking leave.
