On my call today my son mentioned someone collapsed today and was taken to the hospital.... they are really being pushed and if they didn't leave in great physical condition it is probably really hard on them and they need to let someone know when they may be being pushed a little too hard (health wise). It is probably not serious but it should be looked at.

Wendi, she could have a spontaneous pneumothorax or a collapsed lung. You need to call the Recruit Duty Officer at Great Ladies and report this. Your daughter won't thank you for it, but she won't have much to say if the next time you see her she is in her coffin. I'm sorry , but I'm very scared for her.

Wendi, no pain is not necessarily a good sign, you can die of an embolism. I don't want to panic anybody, but this could be life threatening. My husband just went through this scare.

Yay, my son in law got 2 calls from my daughter today, one "paperwork", and a long personal one. She sounded better. Said the whole div(905) had been in and out of sick bay with "recruit crud" but all better now. Not buying the official picts because one SR left her mascara on after Veteran's day, so no one is allowed makeup and all have to wear "birth control" glasses in official photos. Said can get head shots at Penneys later. My son in law was able to adopt her for Thanksgiving. I feel so much better, I will be able to sleep tonight.
She said she needs blonde hairclips because hers are wearing out. She has been getting my cards, but complained that she only got 4-5 from hubby. My husband told him to send something every day!

Wendi, H MUST report her breathing problems, she could have a pulmonary embolism. VERY serious. I am not kidding.

We got a call from H today. Boy, what a roller coaster ride. She is having a hard time breathing...taking a deep breath. She said she is not feeling sick. But because she can't get her breath she is feeling panicky. She doesn't want to say anything because she is scared that she will get set back at not graduate on the 12th. I told her that as much as we want her to graduate then and come home for Christmas, her health is more important.

Love the story Anti M - seems good to hear somethig humorous; alot about boot camp is so intense and stressful, the waiting and the not knowing. Thanks for the light hearted humor. Sounds like good, clean fun!

What a wonderful day! I just got a phone call from my daughter. She is doing great. She told me her nose is better after getting hit in the face with a medicine ball. She is also in charge of the weapons po. I am so excited. She was ready to meet the families for Thanksgiving that are going to foster them that day. She also said they share their barracks with another division. I wanted the phone call to go on and on. I am ready for the next phone call the time goes by to fast. They got an hour to talk. So Happy!!!!
