I got a letter!! Over all she sounds good. She says she didn't know she could be so homesick and that she cries at night :(. Says she is making friends but there is one girl that she is not getting along with very well, but is making friends with others. Good to hear from her.

LOL, Betsy, give him an IOU on a laptop!

CJsMom: He won't be able to call with his new training ship/div #s until he is actually moving into that new division. When my son was asmoed, he told me to keep writing him at his first address as they were forwarding it over to where he was temporarily. Once in the new training division, I was able to use that address.

Anti M, thank you. He is a gamer and he also did give me strict instructions not to buy him one without my oldest son's input. lol

Betsy, if he is a gamer, he will want a very specific laptop. LOL, I know enough geeks to understand how fussy they can be! If he decides to purchase one through the NEX, he should also purchase the warranty/replacement coverage. Best Buy provides better customer service. I know, lots of folks say extended warranties are rip-offs, but for laptops, they almost always pay for themselves.

Too bad my hubby is on the road, he makes Blue Star and blue anchor candles. We only sell them at cost plus shipping, in limited quantities as he has to make them one at a time. Free if the mom is strapped. Unfortunately he isn't going to be home to make any for a while. (Pssst, advertising a business is technically not allowed here per the TOS, don't attract the attention of the admins).

CJ's mom, he may call tomorrow. A lot of us did receive phone calls last Sat.

Also, one thing that we have been told on here, is to please not use your recruit's first name. Apparently, some have been targeted at BC because of things the RDC's read on here. Plus, for Personal Security reasons, it's best not to use his name. I always refer to my recruit as my son, now or use his first initial.

I hope to hear about Collin's new division by next week. He said he would get to call with his new address but I haven;t recvd a call so I am asuming he does not have an idea which division he will be in

I'm very happy to say that I did not have to tackle my mailman. I got a letter today!!!! Woohoo! The first line of it was "I want to start by saying Thank You for everything and sorry for being such a little (ummm brat, but that's not the word he used) the past few months (He wasn't, but apparently he thought he was. lol) He asked about his dad, brother, his 3 sisters and niece and nephew. He wants me to purchase their Christmas presents, for him, and he will pay me back. He said he is doing his best in BC and hopes to have 2 stripes at graduation. His bunkmate is going to Pensacola too and he seems to like him. He wants a new laptop for christmas because he is really missing his games. lol He said that he thinks he will be able to call again me tomorrow and to expect many more letters.

I just wanted to say thanks to those who have ordered their ribbons in the past couple of days. I finally got the letters in I ordered weeks ago so now I feel like I can breath and my mailman can go on to live another day. I don't think he has another Navy mom on his route but you never know. For those who would like to order the ribbons to wear to PIR/Meet & Greet or just for a keepsake send me a friend request and I will send you the info. Don't forget from now until Christmas all orders come with a free scrapbook embellishment :-)

Sharon, I haven't received a letter yet, and I think if I don't get one soon, I will probably tackle our mailman when he comes by. lol
