Hey, everyone. Diane Sawyer is doing something about our military tonight on ABC...didn't catch the time but assuming it is 9 or 10 EST.

Yes, Anti M: They still do the recruit-created division flag, which they can purchase on tshirts, etc too! When my son was there, he thought he would be a "stick" because he was short, but he told me they didn't "trust himi" with a flag! Former class clowns don't seen to be good prospects as sticks! HA!

Happy Veteran's Day, everyone. Yes, your recruits count too. I hope they feed them well today, and I wonder if it is a training day or not.

Halfway through, all the divisions start picking up their flags, the recruits are getting their act together. We got flags for academics, inspection, drill and PT. I think, been a long while since I looked. We also had a division# flag and a recruit-designed company flag, but again, I'd have to peek at a current PIR pic or look it up to know if they still carry a total of six at the end. Or first flag as a division was A for academics, we didn't get our Drill flag until the very end. We didn't march very well at all. I carried one flag, and we learned how to bounce the poles as we came to a halt behind another company and make the other recruits jump. LOL, got in trouble for that more than once. The nickname for the flag bearers is "sticks".

I don't know if they still do the company flag or not, where the recruit designs and paints a flag. I know they're divisions now and no one uses "company" anymore. LOL, guess who drew our flag? Which is why I had to carry the dang thing.

I received a letter yesterday from my SR; so did his GF (7!) and my SR's brother and Grandparents!! I will share some of his comments in the 024 DIV discussion page when I get home from work tonight. Bottom line; its been a tough 2 weeks but he is doing well.
