Now, Elizabeth...that is a very GOOD question! I hadn't noticed that there is no "training group" 4. But I think the reason is that the traning groups are numbered according to the weeks of the year....52 weeks in the year and then they start over again. So they have to skip TG 4 since there is no PIR then...but it still counts as a week...and move on to TG 5. You can see weeks 51 and 52 are at the top of the page (Nov 5 and 12).

Nancy, I've learned to be cautious about taking the recruiter's word. Mine gave me the wrong address for A, remember? It could still work out different than he said.

Elizabeth, what my recruiter told me is that we would be after Jan. 2nd. I looked on the calendar, that puts us on the first Friday...Jan 7th!! AND he said the guys/gals would be there over the holidays. It doesn't totally shut down (which is what I pictured) they just don't do BC, or PIRs. So I don't know what they would do for two weeks... and that means they miss Thanksgiving and Christmas. I was kinda counting on Christmas... :-(

I think that is the hardest thing right now patience....if PIR will be in January I am ok with that just throw me a life line or a date or a hint....

I am very anxious myself! The Navy not only is shaping and teaching our Sailors a thing or two.. lol.. they are teaching us to be patient. Preparing us for periods of time with little to no communication.

Thank you to all of you...I am so sad and anxious right now I can't even stand to be around myself....I really want to know on the graduation schedule where TG4 is and what happened to December 10?

I'm going to write my letter to Ian now, been teaching today...boy work gets in the way of life!! lol

We will send out requests for email addresses and get everyone sorted out on the spreadsheet and see who goes where. I was just hoping that we might "overlap" a little...explain to our husbands...well we have to stay/go a couple days early as there are people we have GOT to meet. But when it is WEEKS apart, well then it just won't happen.

However, it is NOT official yet as I don't have a letter yet, nor does Sara (right Sara). And my ex...so funny lol...asking me for the info as soon as I get it...mind you the letter is going to HIS house.

It would totally SUCK for the kids to have to stay put over the holidays (that's what recuiter said would happen) if they don't graduate.

Lori, oh poor guy. I hope it's not a chronic headache. It sounds like he is doing well. YAY!
Comment by Betsy, mom of Stennis sailor on November 1, 2010 at 6:43pm
Awww, Elizabeth. ((hugs)) We are going to be here for all "our children", so don't worry. I am going to join your PIR group too. (I bet all the other moms on there will think we've lost our minds. lol) Like I said to Nancy, we are in this together and just because they don't graduate together, doesn't mean that we won't be there for all of you too. You are stuck with us now. :)

MNW...I read back a few pages about the information you received from the recruiter on push divisions, it gave me hope...my son is in Div 906 which is not listed on the current graduation page....I am so sad and down in the dumps with the thought of him being in BC longer, I will try to find patience and just wait.
