I agree Betsy - lives are hanging in the balance. If you don't find out today you will lose your mind over the weekend and he will have to answer for it :) Susan

I'm only halfway kidding.

Mary, that's great that your recruiter and your husband have a history. How cool. I'm still waiting for my son's recruiter to get his info to me. Ugh! I guess I disturbed his lunch hour. lol
Susan, can you believe it? I'm still waiting. I'm going to call him again in a little while to find out what the heck is taking so long. Doesn't he realize that there is nothing he can do today, that is as important as getting me that info.?

Lol.. yeah we have to pay the bill on that flight or flights.. depends on which way they come from. They money they get back if they come straight home will be put in their accounts. Any travel they do.. they need to keep receipts cause they can get some if any reinbursed. Their is awesome groups out there that will help our Sailors. I really like my recruiter.. my husband and him grew up in the same neighborhood and same high school so I'm glad we know his recruiter on that personal level and he's not one of those recruiters who BS you and tell you what they want to hear.

Wow, thanks Mary, that did answer a lot of questions. I assumed that if we wanted them home, we would foot the bill, I just didn't know the ins and outs of how to get them to their A school.

So I was talking to my husbands recruiter about Christmas break and the what ifs of it all.. I was concerned if his son would have Daddy for Christmas or not.
This is what I found out thru my recruiters Chief... MOST likely like we all know they will be a RUSH division and get out the week prior, if not.. and grad. after Christmas then they DO NOT come home. Once at BC.. they can't leave until they PIR unless and emergency arises at home. If they are at BC during Christmas break they get HOLIDAY which is like their Sundays all week long.. basically they get a week to rest. Now if the PIR before Christmas... this is what he had to say. There is 2 weeks before the classes start up. Normally they get to choose which week they come home and the other week they have to be at their school to practice stand down ( I think its called). In rare cases.. the boys get both weeks... NOW heres another catch.. does your child have to report to school then come home... That all depends.. The group or people ( I forgot what they are called) that issue tickets and deal with tickets will look at 2 factors determing this.. How far do I have to send them to school and how far is their home. Sometimes they send the child out to the A school and its out of yourpocket to send them home and back again for Christmas break, then sometimes they see that it is cheaper on them to send the child home. If this happens... what they do is credit the child what it would of cost them to send them to where ever their school was and the child pays the differnce. I hope I explained this the best I could.

Nancy, if that chat is the same size as the sample on there, it's pretty small. What do you think?
