Thank you Lynne...I broke open my box of Kleenex that was already packed for that one! Safe Travels Vickie, see you soon!
Thank you Lynne. That was so nice of you. Now thru my tears I am going to try to read past posts !!
Safe Travels Vickie! Thanks Lynne for such a heart felt message - we really have appreciated your support!
I am so proud of each of you. I think it is safe to say...you have now earned your Navy Mom stripes: proud and strong. You have survived boot camp and now the next few days will be your reward. Tonight as battle stations begin your recruits will embark on their final step to becoming a sailor. Imagine them looking at that "practice" ship and embarking ready to run through each and every scenario that the RDCs can think of them to prepare for life at sea. You too have prepared yourselves. You have learned that you are strong. Your recruits have been away a long time. You have learned how to support them and not do for them. You have learned to encourage them and trust that all the lessons you worked so hard to teach them would actually be evident in their character....and it is. Friday, when they open those double doors and your heart beats a little faster, and swells with pride...remember that while they pass in review for you....you also stand in review for them having earned your Navy stripes. I am so very proud to know you and to call you part of my Navy Family. Bravo Zulu PIR 12/17/2010!!
I wanted to tell everyone thank you one more time for being such an inspiration. I am leaving early in the morning we are flying into Ohio to pick up my mother. I hope all the SR will do well tonight. It's funny I just have a sense of peace about it all. After all the anxiety, nerves and worry over the last 7 weeks. I hope everyone has a safe journey to PIR.
Vickie
Anti M....Thank you for sharing! That is awesome, and what a wonderful gift! I know my SR has his Grandfathers Navy 'stripes' with him, that my dad earned and had cut off his uniform years ago. I sent them to him early on in BC and told him to put it in his pocket if he could during BS :)! Grandpa and him were so close, and Grandpa would be so proud (first Grandchild of 18 grandchildren to go into any armed forces)...I know Grandpa is with him each and every step! Good luck Tysmom...drive carefully! I personally cannot wait to meat each and every one of you...you have made this journey a little less stressful!
((hugs))
Cindy

Wow, we are all chattering like we're excited or something! LOL I can only imagine how Meet & Greet is going to be. I have an idea it's going to be hard for us to keep our seats on graduation day! I am so happy .... not just for my recruit but for all of our recruits and for us too!! Congratulations again to each of you and I wish you all safe travels to and from Illinois!
We're suppose to have snow on Wednesday here in Kentucky and ice on Thursday morning so wish us well too! I wish I could hug all of you! You have become a very important part of my day! See you soon!
