Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

feb5mom:  You can just email RTC to confirm receipt of your Thanksgiving fax.  The email address should be in your form letter.  Or you can reach them on the "contact" tab on the RTC site.

realtreegirl:  So sorry.  If it is a stress fracture, depending on how bad it is, they usually will set them back to recover....and then they continue training with another PIR group.  Hopefully it isn't too bad and his delay won't be long!  Don't cancel anything yet.  There's still time.

I was so excited to get letters from my son today but the last letter had bad news. He may have a stress fracture in his foot. He finds put tomorrow what will happen but he said he is still in pain so he may have to be sent to a special division to try and continue to train and if it isnt better then he may be sent home?! So confused and sad for him.  So I am assuming I should think about cancelling my reservations for PIR?

I got a letter today and my son said he is flying out on the 12th, at least we'll have the 11th together and Thanksgiving.
