N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Ship 06/Div 039

Got my first two letters from my sailor today! Live in FL so it took a little more than a week to get.. He is doing okay he says that some of the boys in his division make it hard but he is looking forward to being done already.

I got a call from my son on Saturday. It was really good to hear his voice. He had his wisdom teeth out too! I had no idea ahead of time and it's probably good that I didn't because I would have worried. He did fine if that helps any of you moms who have SR's getting theirs out. I miss hearing from the other moms on here. I hope you all are doing well.

That's worth waiting for. I'm just worried about my SR. I sure hope it didn't hit him as hard. I've been writing him. Surely he has gotten the letters or at least a few. I picture him doing well. I'm praying for it too.

Having dead silence on the line yesterday when my SR called only increased my anxiety. Sure wished he could have called back.

HoustonsWife & NCNavymom, diannep is right I waited until yesterday afternoon for any contact and when I finally heard from by SR it was like why was I so worried... Now though I can't wait for a letter.  I think it's the not being able to check on them when you want to.  I bet they are doing just fine and it will be very exciting and such a relief when you do get their call.  Hang in there big NMH!!

Comment by diannep on November 2, 2015 at 9:55pm

HoustonsWife:  When the call DOES come, it will be so exciting that you will forget about all of what you are going through now!

I have not heard from 03/037 yet...really thought I would have gotten the call over the weekend.  Now just hoping mail went out today!  The waiting really takes over everything!  I just keep telling myself all is well...and when they can call, they will.  Stay positive...this to shall pass!
