for
~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

HoustonsWife, I am sorry you haven't heard from your SR yet. They do say no news is good news - but I was going crazy not hearing from him. My SR said he was able to mail off his first letters yesterday, so maybe yours did too. Just keep the faith, he/she will call when they can.
I havent heard from my SR yet. Im trying to be patient but its hard when everyone else has gotten a call! anyone have any advice?
This weekend was fantastic. I got to speak to my son for the first time in 2 weeks and the Royals won the world series!!! Woohoo, life is good (sorry to all the Mets fans).
You are very welcome!
My hero ! thank you Dianne

Good Morning Moms ! I need a favor please. Since I don't get "the letter" I don't get the info I need. There is a colored brochure that is super important. Then you open it in the bottom left hand corner there is a way to send a sailor a congrats "bag" of stuff if you can't make PIR, and since my sailor is adopted by me, I wont be going to PIR. I would like to send him a bag, so if someone can help me out and give me the web site or phone number, that would be so great. I will write and be sure to tell him where to go to find it. I wrote him again today, hope he got my letter last week, Ship 14 USS Arizona , have a sparkling day girls NMH
Beth: I'm surprised they made her cut her hair since they have revised their policy on that....they now allow them to keep longer hair but it has to be put up, can't hang loose. I have a friend whose daughter has long beautiful hair and when she was at Bootcamp about 6 mos ago, she was thrilled that she didn't have to cut it. Oh well....
Just a reminder that if you remember the last names she told you, don't post them on here as it is not allowed. Just use initials and hometowns (if you know them) to see if their family members are on here.
amanda: Not sure what you are asking. YOU will be there to pick him up, right? They do not allow a bf, gf, fiance, friend to pick up the SR....only family. But if the gf is just part of your group picking him up. there should not be a problem.
I have not heard of a problem with the group traveling together to pick up your SR. Maybe they will have to wait in the car while you go to the gate/etc to get him....but I would think they can be with you.
If you have further questions, I would use the email address in your form letter to contact RTC Public Affairs with any questions you have.
Good Morning All !
