DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

41- Just got my phone call from my son. He is doing well. He is eating a lot and busy all day long. He sounds so good and was laughing at me because I was so happy to talk with him. I said it felt like 2 years, not 2 weeks. Today was the first day he was able to send letters out. He sounds so healthy and happy.

We received two calls from our son at Ship 14 Div 035.  We missed the one on wednesday, but he left messages.  He called again on Friday and we could not hear him, so we spoke into the phone saying "call the land line" (home).  He heard us and called our home phone and we could hear him.  I am not sure why we could not hear him from the cell phones but we could from the land line.  We sent him a calling card.

Division 905 just got a call from my daughter my first call! She could only talk for a few minutes connection was a little bad. She was crying because she said she misses me but she said it was her first time that she cried. She said they made her cut her beautiful long hair off and she had to dye it because they didn't like the highlights thatwere in it. And it made her hair turned orange. She says it's stressful but that she's met some nice friend she said that I was talking to some of them on the blogI don't know how she knows that she told me last names I can't remember them though. So some of you moms are kids are friends with my daughter. She also said she did write us. And please keep the letters coming.
