N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Here is a pretty cool website I was checking out last night. www.navyoutfitters.com Here is a link gor ribbons www.uniquememorymakers.com/US-NAVY-PIR-Graduation-Ribbons_c4.htm I've not ordered for either and I'm not sure if posting like is okay or not. Search pinterest or google for PIR decorations. There may be someone on this sight that makes ribbons or that can give us some good ideas.

Amanda - I have been googling PIR door decorations. I don't have all guide lines that need to be followed but I'm sure it's on here somewhere. Between high/middle school football, cheer and work I haven't had much time to look for the do's and don'ts. What I do know is decorating hour hotel room door during PIR is a popular thing. I've also read a little about making centerpieces for Sarge's meet and greet. A few other items that can help pass the time is making a gift basket for our sailors, making ribbons (or ordering them). I've also just started looking at challenge coins.

amanda:  Good for him!  I think it is great that your son cooks and cooks HEALTHY too!

Also, better book Thanksgiving reservations for hotels now since they will fill up.  Usually there is no charge if you have to cancel---as long as it is not within 24 hrs of the reservation.  Remember, there is an A School base there too so there will be families coming up for Thanksgiving to see their A School sailors.

Good Morning All !

Oh and it's only a couple of individuals doing the talking to earn the punishment. He said everyone else "Gets it." And doesn't earn punishment.

I don't know if this helps anyone but maybe it will. My son had to call me yesterday as a couple of dates were missing from his records. So between questions that he had for me, I got to ask him a couple of things.
Here's what I got from him.
1)He didn't even know what day it was until someone mentioned it was Thursday.
2) Yes they are eating very well.
3) He falls into bed and doesn't even look to see what time they get up in the morning. He just gets up when the "horn blows"
4) He has not once gotten punishment. However, the whole division has had punishment a few times from people talking when they weren't supposed to. He said when the drill sergeant tells you to shut up, you shut up, it's as simple as that.
5) Sometimes he likes he navy/sometimes he doesn't.
6) He's not homesick, there's no time to be homesick.
If I shouldn't post this, if you are an admin, please delete it.
