N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Thank you FTLW. I guess I should still wait to book my tickets from San Diego until I get the letter  What hotel is the best to stay at? Navy Lodge? Also we are going to stay a few extra days in Chicago since we are coming so far. After graduation on Fri should we plan to stay at Great Lakes that night or go ahead and head to Chicago? My daughter is going to A school in Pensacola Fl. This is all so confusing. ha ha! Thanks to CatMom509 for the encouraging scriptures. My girl is in my daily prayers along with your beloved children.

Good morning ladies! So exciting to mark off another Friday! TiffG, my son left on Navy's 240th Birthday as well. Something special to always remember as they begin this life's journey.

Booked our room today. Still waiting for the form letter though. Reserving the room put me in a good place. Now I'm going to try to turn my attention to making the door banner, gift basket and PUR ribbons. That should help the time pass by.

So my son left for basic on the Navy's birthday and will be in the last PIR of the year. Pretty cool...

I'm with you Amanda, it's incredible the vacuum that's left from their absence, but I can't believe how much my grocery bill has already gone down. Haha! Wish I had a monitor (like at the gym) to sneak a peek at what he's up to!

amanda:  I'm impressed that your son cooks, burnt pans or not!

Really hoping and praying the form letter comes today.  The letters are really piling up here and I miss my girl so much.  I think just knowing I have the ability to send her support through letters will help.
