For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Comment by Caleyrae13 on December 3, 2015 at 9:39pm: Hi my sailor is graduating bootcamp next week he is then going to Pensacola for A school (he says that is is 41 days long). His rate is AM. My question is will be find out his first duty station during bootcamp or while he is at A school?

Comment by FireTeamLeaderWife aka FTLW on December 3, 2015 at 9:13pm: And yes NCNavymom, you are correct (as far as our knowledge extends), in that usually orders for the Fleet are based on the Sailors dream sheet they put in near the end of A school. Sometimes they get one of their picks and sometimes they don't (needs of the Navy). Also, we do her that usually the top student gets their first pick. :-D

Pensacola has many A schools for the Aviation Field so that is where they do the A-PACT Training.

Here is the TSC GL Brochure that shows that S/E-PACT training are held there:

If it is a rating then go ahead and let us know and we can tell you where his A school will be.

Comment by diannep on December 3, 2015 at 8:32pm: Ok, I read through other posts and think your SR is undesignated? Then, no, training will be in GL. From all we have heard, undesignated sailors always train in GL. Sounds like you will just have to wait until your new sailor has his flights booked....or no flights booked... to know for sure!
