For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Perhaps he does another job too that he didnt mention. I know he said he was turned down for homor guard due to a height requirement he said...

I believe the ones who salute are actually part of that division that is graduating--the RPOC or AROC (leaders of that division). Could it be that young man looked very similar to your SR?

The performing divisions, sing, play musical instruments/drums, do the states flags, and maybe greet the families coming into the ceremony. Did you SR let you know what he is doing at the PIRs in his letters?

I remember at PIR last year I was watching a young lady in the front of a division that I was sure was my Sailor daughter and it turned out she was in the next division to the left--petite with short dark hair and supposed to be carrying a flag (but my daughter actually wasn't carrying a flag, even though in the front of the division!) I had lost track of my daughter's division when they lined up and did a fancy turn around.

Comment by Mattie on November 29, 2014 at 3:28pm: happy saturday everyone! just wanted to say how happy i was to be able to view the graduation video from this past wednesday! first of all, huge congratulations to anyone whose sailor just graduated and secondly, i was finally able to catch a glimpse of my son! he marched with the second to last division, he is the one who salutes the officers. i cannot believe how much he has changed, from the quick glimpse i got he looks really good, and really relaxed considering he was marching in a parade, something he has never, ever done before! i was so happy to finally see him :)
