Just a reminder for those who plan to fly to PIR and haven't booked tickets yet.  Check out Southwest Airlines....they have no change fee if your SR is delayed (just a change in fare if there is one)....and 2 bags check for free!  They fly into Milwaukee WI (45 min to GL, no traffic, cheaper car rental) and Chicago-Midway (hour+ to GL depending on traffic).

Thank you so much!  Yay for me :-)

YES, he will, Debbie D!  Those with sailors staying in GL for A School have the best of both worlds since they get the extra time with their sailors.  Your sailor will be moving over there with the group after PIR is over, then have Liberty with you until later that evening.  Then, daytime Liberty on Sat/Sun....must return to A School base each night.

Good Morning!

My son is staying in GL for A School. Will he be "OFF" on Sunday also. I wasn't going to leave until Monday.

Yep, Tabluckev, diannep is absolutely right!!  We love to help all the loved ones to have a smooth experience at PIR!!

SkramTam:  ktsmom is correct....it is best to fly out late Sat. or even Sunday if you can.  Although most fly out on Sat., sometimes they don't until Sunday.  They won''t know their flights/airports until right before PIR.  They can fly out anytime during that day, but are bussed to the airports overnight to wait for flights.  Most will fly out by late morning/early afternoon, but some may not fly out until later in the afternoon.

skramtam, if what I have read is correct, the airlines will give you passes to walk your SR, or Sailor by then, to the gate and wait with him. I would maybe try and have a later flight or the next day in the event he doesn't leave until Sunday or he leaves from midway and you are booked at Ohare. Just a thought.
