Raina:  Another suggestion, since NUKE school is so long, is to ask questions about Christmas Leave on the actual A School page on this site or on the NUKE page.  Some of those ladies on there may have had to do this last Christmas and can help!

Raina:  When he is released for Leave will be totally up to his A School.  How does he know his Leave dates already?  That seems like a really long time for him to be home?  I know that when my son came home during Christmas for 2 yrs, he had to come either for Christmas...or.....New Years....couldn't do both---they had "split shifts" for Leave time.  But this was duty station....maybe A Schools are different?

When they come home on "Leave" like that, it is up to them to get to the airports and then back from the airports....on their "own dime."  So he may just have to take taxis each way.  Unless he meets someone there who can drive him to the airport/pick him up.

Do you know who told him his Leave dates since he is not at A School yet?

Happy for you Raina and Julie, Were these regular routine calls or were they passing something important?

I don't expect to hear from mine again 12/041 until the I am a Sailor Call.

Wondering if someone can help... my son is heading to SC for A school and will be getting leave from the 19th through the 4th. He asked me today to check into flights. Is there any possible way to know what time he would get to the airport to fly out on the 19th and what time he's due back on the 4th? Also, how will he get from the airport to the base when he returns?

Mattie - That must be a beautiful thing to watch :-) Our middle son has had a horse for the last 8 years and it has been a joy to just watch her sometimes. She is boarded (we are in "the 'burbs") but love to turn her out and watch her do her horsey thing.
