mynavyman:  If not on the list, you cannot attend PIR.  You are asked to stay off base to watch PIR.  Your other family members attending PIR would be able to adopt another sailor....it's up to your sailor to decide who that is and make the arrangements for that sailor to be with your family.  The adopt a sailor for PIR is actually so you can take him/her off base with you and your family after PIR.  It is not used to allow "extras" on base to see PIR....but it was a nice thought on your part!

Good Morning!
For those of you staying at Ramada for PIR, please check out TripAdvisor.com reviews first.  We have had some bad reviews from previous families on here re: that hotel.  But monica's post from the 10/31 PIR group is scary!  Here it is:

went to my sons PIR this week! loved seeing my son... do NOT recommend staying at the Ramada in Waukegan! we woke up this morning to find not one but THREE bullet holes in our rental car

Are you asking about the Adopt-a-Sailor program where the senior TG's are adopted out for Thanksgiving for the day or are you asking about graduation PIR day and "adopting" a new Sailor for the day that was not able to have family in attendance?

I may have the wrong ship number for divisions 039/040, it wouldn't be the first time. Ignore the division title for right now, I will get it fixed.

I'm a bit confused with the discussion board about div 039/040. It says ship 14, but my daughter's form letter said ship 03.

Will post BattleStations info in the Forum above.  That is their final test....which will happen within a week of PIR.

Tabluckev:  I sure hope your SR gets to call again soon!  I know you both are disappointed that it was missed, but it happens....just so hard to predict calls.

Yes, the MeetandGreet is Sarge's.  It is for the entire PIR group, not just certain divisions.
