OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Klmnmom:  OHare is closer to the train station than Midway, I believe.  You could also use Sarge's shuttle service to get her to the airport.  If she can share with another family, saves all money!

Milwaukee is actually about a 45 min drive to GL and Midway is actually an hour+ because of distance/traffic.  Milwaukee is usually the better deal!  Car rental cheaper there too.

Does anyone know from Great Lakes which airport it's easy to take a train to. My mom is driving up with me, but is flying back. I would rather not have to drive to the airport, and just wondering if the train would be easy?

Good morning all - I just wanted to post a tidbit when making your airline reservations.  As some of you may have already figured out - if you fly Frontier or Southwest - they do not fly into O'Hare - they fly into Midway.  They also fly into Milwaukee!  Milwaukee is only about 20 miles further than Midway!  The reason I bring this up is because last week when I checked airfare, from DIA it was roughly $300 per person.  Today, it was more than $500!  (this was on Frontier).  I wanted to book a fully-refundable ticket "just-in-case".  So, by flying into Milwaukee I saved myself several hundred dollars!  Just wanted to pass that along for folks who don't know the area well!

DylansMom:  Thanksgiving Day is "holiday schedule" for them.  They serve them a Thanksgiving meal....they probably will still have some training, but not as much that day.
