~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Purchased our flights yesterday. Got a good deal on spirit. I always use orbitz for all our trips, car rentals, hotels, flights.....etc. never had a problem. But I have never flown spirit, anyone out there flown with them?
wendy, does Frontier charge a change fee? Southwest not charging one is a big deal because those can be costly...I know from experience when my son was setback a week when at bootcamp...ugh! Two $150 change fees....only thing that helped is that the new flights were about $60 cheaper so we didn't have to pay quite as much as we would have.
Good Morning all!
Try Frontier Airlines as well. They have some great rates. They do charge $20 per checked bag, but if there rate is lower, then that might still be a better deal.
I have also heard that 6 weeks before the flight is the best time to book. Not 100% sure that is true but we are going to give it a shot. The 6 week mark is next Friday.
Please be sure to checkout Southwest Airlines into either Milwaukee WI (45 min drive to GL) or Chicago-Midway (hour+ drive to GL). They have no change fee in case your SR is delayed in training, and 2 bags check for free. Milwaukee will have less traffic and probably cheaper car rental.
Dawn: I believe your son needs to send it to you, but you can check with the Public Affairs Office on Monday and see what they say: 847 688 2405
Found great roundtrip ticket prices on United! Paid a few bucks to hold the tickets for a week just in case!
Hello everyone!
My son is 02 DIV 906. I've received the box and the form letter, but no Adopt a Sailor letter for Thanksgiving. We plan to drive to Chicago for Thanksgiving. Can I request the Adopt A Sailor form, or must that come from my son?
Thank you!
bprincessmom: It is very possible that this is your PIR date. No one on here has posted from the 039/040 brother divisions yet....but looks like 037/038 are in this group. Stay on here for information until you get your form letter and know for sure! Welcome to the group!
Good Morning All!

Your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel:
I am the Lord Your God,
who teaches you what is best for you,
who directs you in the way you should go."
