~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security)
(Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips)
This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way.
The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for your personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

so frustrated that i haven't gotten his graduation information or a phone call. Im just waiting like everyone else, but im losing my patience. Everything reminds me of him and im having a hard time getting through the days.
Sorry just venting...
Anyone else have a recruit in Ship 3 Div 36....?
erush89, So happy for you : ) I got that same call a bit ago from my son. I got a 'I Love You" in there also:) That made it even more special. Hang in there !!! :)
I just got a call saying the same thing. It was soooo great to hear his voice. He even got in an 'I love you' at the end. I burst into tears as soon as we hung up. I've had a really emotional day today. So, that was just what I needed.
I just got a phone call from my SR saying that his graduation is 12/21 not 12/20. It was about 20 seconds in length and definitely scripted. Sounded good but could definitely tell he was being monitored. So good to hear his voice.....oh, dear, here come the tears....
@imagegirl...No only 4 are allowed. There are no exceptions. I had the same problem. Your son will only be able to put four people on the list. I even wrote and asked the Recruit Training Command Center before bootcamp because someone had told me only 4 were allowed. I received the NO answer from them. The response below is the response I got when I wrote them and asked them
Ma'am,
During your recruit's first week at Recruit Training Command the recruit
will send home an informational letter which contains very important
information regarding graduation, including your recruit's graduation date,
the names of their intended guests and password for the gate pass. Recruits
are permitted to place up to four names on the access list. He will not be
able to list 5 guests.
Very Respectfully,

e same question.
imagagirl, i am sorry but as of right now they are not allowing any extra guests to attend PIR. They are at a higher rate of security right now and are very strict about that rule. We are hoping it will change and they will once again allow extras to get in or will at least change the number of guests on the list. But for now only 4 guests will get into PIR. You can always take extras with you to wait at the hotel and then spend the rest of the time with your Sailor. Please make sure that the top four people who need to get in are the ones on the list and that all the names are spelled correctly and everyone has proper ID. If a name is misspelled they will not get in :( This new policy saddens all of us because we know how important it is for family to be there and with extended families it can be very hard to choose who will get in.
Doing research on hotels.. any opinions or recommendations? Looking to stay close with breakfast included.
I have a few questions. I am new mom to a son in bootcamp. Received the box and the letter with his addy and PIR. My questions are he listed 4 people but we have 7 that want to attend, is that possible? Also, when will he be able to write? Lastly, I need to book the flights / hotels from South Texas. Any suggestions on where to stay that offers shuttle and when will I know if he will get leave, since I need to book his ticket and during the holidays it will be real expensive!
