Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way.

The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for your personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Comment by southcarolinamom(Nuke MM) on November 2, 2012 at 3:34am: with everyone getting there phone calls and letters I think I should say the next one in this division to get a call tell them to go punch Edward in the shoulder and tell him "Call your mama boy!" LOL Im SOOOOOO hoping I get a form letter, real letter and or a phone call today or tomorrow. (Hopefully they punch the RIGHT Edward in the arm LOL) congrats to all who are getting contact w/their kiddos...and keeping my fingers crossed for us who are still waiting :)

He sounded great and said he was getting plenty of rest. God answered all of my prayers. I was having a bad day until I saw the area code and heard his sweet voice. I can't wait to see him on 12/21. I have written a letter every day since he left.

I will be traveling from Alabama. Are there any other Bama Mom's with kids at BC? I would love to hear from you.

Comment by FireTeamLeaderWife aka FTLW on November 2, 2012 at 12:17am: We will be starting Division Discussions in a few days. We will set them up as Brother Divisions as Brother Divisions Train together...so they are on the same Training Day.

I know that RTC has listed the Divisions but we like to see folks join and familiarize themselves with the PIR group first...so we wait until a good amount find the GROUP and join. Most likely by this Weekend.

Comment by deniseMatt'smom on November 1, 2012 at 10:54pm: My son left on the 25 so I'm still not sure if he is in this group but his recruiter said his pir should be 12/21....I missed a call a few hours ago so he called his sister...he sounded happy she said....yippeeee!!! Can't wait to get my letter, I have a 5 pager ready to go!!!
