DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Profile Information

A little about me:
I am a mother of a Sailor who just had his PIR on Dec. 21, 2012. I am SO very proud of my son! He turned 18 in boot camp and spent halloween and Thanksgiving there too. He did so very well there and matured so much. It does a mother's heart good to know the Navy took good care of my "boy". I am a private Nanny specializing in children and teens with Special Needs. I have been a nanny for over 17 years and absolutely love it! I am engaged and planning to marry in 2013 to the love of my life. I could not fit another ounce of HAPPINESS in this Sailor mom heart if I tried!
I am here to support my
Son/Daughter
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I...
Was proud and encouraged it
The Navy offers opportunities that...
No news is good news. Also that they are not CHANGING my son, they are encouraging him to be the BEST and most efficient person he was meant to be. Ultimately the Navy is making it possible for my son to have a wonderful future and I am very proud of him! :)
Our Navy experience so far...
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Hi! Glad you're doing ok and received Edwards address; I'm still waiting on that. PJ did tell us his graduation is Dec.21st so I hope to see you there! :) As for me, I'm holding up, it was hard not having him here for his BDay, but at least we were able celebrate prior him to leaving. I'm very anxious to get this stack of letters out to him. lol

Hi southcarolinamom - Yes the Van Buren drive in is still open!  Haven't been there in years though - I think the last time we went was for my SR's birthday party - I think maybe his 15th.  And now he is 23!  I too got my call last night - 10:30pm Chicago time. It was short and sweet - from his cell phone.....he totally stuck to the script!  I had the best night sleep last night that I have had in months.  No more worries - he's there, he's safe and he is in good hands!  I look forward to meeting up with you at PIR......Debbie
