~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security)
(Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips)
This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way.
The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for your personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

BradMom - What ship and division is your SR in?
Thanks DianeP -Got my Parking Pass Printed...all caps in the password did the trick!
BradMom: I'm so sorry....such difficult times out there now! My son was an "early release" from the Navy....heartbreaking....so I understand the feelings with the economical struggle. Hoping so much that your husband gets the next job he is after!
Be sure to post your request in your division discussion group above...about someone taking a pik of your son at PIR to send to you. The ladies are wonderful about doing that, but it would be easier for someone in your division to do that. so please post there. However, so hoping that something "happens" and you can still make it up there.
My boy's name is Marco. He is in Honor guard with a rifle kinda dude whatever that means. Seeing as how he never messed with guns until a week before he left is hilarious.
So happy for you, In the same boat (husband did not get job, laid off for 2yrs now) SR was going to ride home with us, looking fro ride down. We live in Georgia, where did you post, just looking for ride now, flying not an option due to cost.
Good Morning, Please pray for me and my family. Just found out husband will not get job (has been laid off for 2 years) may not get to PIR on 12/21/12 due to gas cost and hotel. Is anyone going that can email me and take some picture of my SR, really wish I could go. We live in Georgia so we were going to make the 14 hour drive there and back, Sr had planned to come home with us, trying to contact him now.
Ok, sorry. I see that they posted the gate prompt early for this group! Good! Try the ALL CAPS for the password....
If anyone has a problem printing the gate pass, try Mozilla Firefox browser if you aren't getting anywhere with the browser you use. Usually that works!
rksteinke: The prompt to get the gate pass should be posted sometime today. It isn't available until 11 days before PIR. Be sure to type the password from your form letter in ALL CAPS.
