N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security)
(Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips)

This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way.

The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

 • Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for your personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

My Uncle and Grandfather were there to support and honor my Sailor at PIR today. My uncle said they were sat right in the front row and still couldnt pick out my son, he is 6 ft 3 so it shouldnt have been too difficult but none the less, they never saw him till it was over then they realized he was infront of them the whole time, LOL. Even though i could not be there my uncle recorded the whole thing for me so I could feel like I was there! YAY I cant wait to see it. Still waiting to see my Sailor in uniform and with his "new and improved" smile :) I talked to him tonight on the phone, he was tired but sounded happy it was over and that he could SLEEP IN tomorrow am LOL, the things we take for granted. :)

Two very wonderful stories!  Congrats, ladies!

It was a gorgeous day out today as the soldiers marched into the drill hall in perfect formation. Even though there were hundreds of sailors marching in, my daughter and I spotted our BOY in Division 032. He looks so handsome in his dress blues and beautiful, long coat. As I looked at this young man before me, I remembered him as my little baby. I think he grew 3 inches while he was gone.
I am so proud of the man he has become and all that he will be in the future. This is such a milestone in his life and ours to celebrate!
WAY TO GO ALEC! MOM LOVES YOU SO MUCH! I AM SO PROUD OF YOU!!  HOOYAH SAILOR!!

What a great day it has been cold and all! I have never been so happy to see our sailors smile in my life. The hard part was only having him for ten minutes because he had to process into A school in GL. We picked him up at the base around 4 and he is on leave. Staying with us at the hotel. We even went to Libertyville for dinner at the Italian restaurant that Sarge recommended. It was great. Libertyville was lovely! I have a feeling when our sailor gets still and quiet he will be out. He is headed to Japan on my birthday Feb 4. So happy to have him for the next ten days. God bless all our new Sailors!

Happy PIR day everyone, I am so sorry that some flights were canceled and some were not able to get there. Hopefully those Sailors have other family who were able to get there. Please have your Sailors check with their friends and make sure their families are there and no one is left behind. Maybe they can hang out with you all for a while or yo can get some pics for their families and maybe let them use your cell phones :) Have a wonderful time!!!!

HAPPY PIR DAY!!!
Comment by diannep on December 21, 2012 at 8:34am

Ahhhh....the picture Connie posted....what memories that brings back!  It is truly a goosebump moment....where you will totally lose it!  I just boo hooed during the entire thing.....tears of happiness.  Thanks for posting that, Connie my friend!  Good to see you on here!

Ladies, get movin!  Hope that all of you are making your way to RTC right now.  This is a day that you want to just "soak in" so early is the way to go!  Those driving, make sure you have the gate pass/car rental agreement with you.  If you don't, park in the train parking lot (paid parking) which is past RTC.  It is about a 75 yd walk to RTC....

Remember:  If you want to order the PIR DVD and your sailor didn't, head over to the NEX after PIR and order that.  It may be a little chaotic in there, but you won't regret getting that.  For those who want to do some NEX shopping with more of a selection and not so many people, wait and shop off-base at the Greenbay Rd larger NEX, close to the base.

Now...the most important advice....ENJOY!  Hugs and congrats to all of your sailors!  HOOYAH!
