~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".
The Weather Widget is interactive. Click the green dot on the top bar and drag it along the to change the time. Click LIVE to go back to current time. Click on the days to change to that day or expand out to six days.

NavyMom: I had that too when my son was there. Mine was involved with the zip code last 4 numbers. Here are the ship #/addresses which is what they go by:
I'm very hopeful for a letter today!! I read NavyMomIN got a letter and our sons are both in ship 13 041...It will be very nice to share a letter with family tomorrow..I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!
dianapp, yes I do have military ID. My hubby is Navy retired... but, he claims the Navy has changed a lot from the time he got in. So, he is not very helpful...lol
Has anyone gotten mail from Ship 11 div 044 yet ? I can't wait to hear from my daughter.
Good morning everyone, I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving :)
Yes, I will contact Sarge after the weekend. Thanks for the good info!! Yes, I would rather pay him than a random cab service!! And I will sign up for his Meet and Greet.
truluv: Do you have a military ID? Because only those with military ID can stay at Gateway which is actually on GL A School base next door to RTC.
Navy Lodge (1.1 miles from RTC) is available to all of you though...just book in your SR's name and tell them you are there for graduation.
Feelings of missing your SRs are so very normal, but doesn't make it easier, I know. But bootcamp is good practice for when they will be deployed and out of touch for a while. Just try and go on the NO NEWS IS GOOD NEWS theory...and talk about him/her alot at home! Doesn't stop the tears totally, but it helps. Mine was gone during the holidays too when he was up there in 2009...wasn't easy. He got to call on Thanksgiving, but not on Christmas....sigh....but once they are in A School, it is so much better! You are back in touch with phones, emails, SKYPE, Facetime, etc...it is more like they are off at college then...but with lots more restrictions on them than college students have. As my son said, the Navy "owns you." I always reminded him that they do, but in return, they take care of you!
DaytonaBeachMom: Would you consider letting SARGE help you with your transportation needs? Would be much easier and safer since you are traveling by yourself. He is wonderful. He provides transportation for the sailors at A School there, and the PIR families. Please consider texting or calling him for his rates: 847 212 0246 You won't regret it, I promise you! We have never heard a negative thing about Sarge...only rave reviews!
He will be busy with the PIR going on today so you may want to wait until this weekend to contact him, but he will get back in touch with you. He is good about that. He also holds one of the MeetandGreets...the night before PIR...although there are 3 MeetandGreets, we always suggest Sarge's because he has awesome info for you.
Another suggestion: You may want to post on here and start a discussion above to see if anyone else will be arriving at your airport at the same time you are and you could share either Sarge's cab (cheaper for all) or maybe grab a ride with that family to GL? That happens alot on this site. The ladies are great about helping out each other.
If you use Sarge's service from the airport, he will get you to PIR...for free!
Good Morning All!
Any one staying on base, Gateway Inn? or has anyone stayed there before?
21 days and counting... Hope I get some personal mail soon or a phone call. The holidays are here and I miss my son more than I thought possible. I think it's more the not being able to at the least, check on how he is and what he will do for the holidays. I am having dinner with his brother, sister, nephews, niece...but his chair will be empty and it breaks my heart. I hate the thought that he will be not have any family around.... Some days are harder than others. My hubby still doesn't get it, he is my baby boy and was the last one to at home. We did so much together...especially when i wanted to go to a show, movie etc and my hubby didn't want to go..he never said no.
