~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

I got 2 letters in the mail today from my son. Was very happy to hear from him but broke down into sobs when I read them. He doesn't sound like he is enjoying it too much. I miss him. I wish I could help him. Save him! Things are not going very well in his division 040. I can only hope my next letter is better from him. He asked me to pray for him......not something he usually asks. :(
Hi Kilie It's nice to hear from someone in the same ship and division. I know they are saying the 900 division is a performanace division. Does your guy sing or play an instrument? My son doesn't. I believe he is sticks or in the background. I didn't get a letter today. I was hopeful when I got home from work but no such luck. Still waiting though. Hey keep in touch with me if you can. I'm in Illinois and about an hour away from GL. Looking forward to chatting with people in the 907 division.
My oldest is ship 13 Div 42. Shipped the 1st of Nov. So far we have had one phone call from him business related and rec the form letter with the graduation date. I come from a long line of Navy men but my father and uncle both graduated way back in the 50s so while a little familiar with what to expect I'm still very new to all this.
FTLW,
Thank you for the boot camp questionnaire. It was great, but when I got to question 33, I just peed my pants from laughing so hard!
33. Finally, What I think about Boot Camp surveys
a. LOVE them! How easy is this? Mom will write to herself for me!
I have to say, I am not really expecting to get too many letters from my daughter, she has alot to learn and not much time to do it in. I would rather her spend her time learning all she can in the time she has to become successful both in the service and in life. I also remember not having a whole lot of time myself to write home during boot.
On the other hand, I know supportive letters to her will mean alot, so I look at this as my last right as her mom before she becomes completely independent. I have started writing her every day since getting her address. I remember getting my fathers letter every day, and although sometimes it was just mundane, there were some rough days that the letter ment so much, just knowing how much he supported me.
I have heard rumor that she is going straight from graduation to her schooling, I am curious to find if that is true or not as I would love to have her home for one last holiday before her own adventures and life begins.
So is life in the service, and as it will be, so will we!
How dare my mailman just drive by and not deliver any mail to my house. Does he not understand that I am waiting for a letter
Hi Everyone. I guess we all are waiting to get the first letter. Is there anyone on ship 02 Div 907 that received a letter yet?
Still no Mail man yet today :( I feel like bribing him so he will start coming to our street earlier!! This is torture!!
Anyone else have a loved one on ship 11 div 44?
Just wondering if any of you have received any letters (other than the form letter) yet....I have not.
Bugs, you are definitely not alone! I just don't know how I will get through Thanksgiving Day without our son if I don't receive a letter from him by then. Big HUG to you!
